Here’s one jazzy jungle / drum’n’bass cut for ya!
Some months ago, tEiS contacted me asking to co-op a song he had been working on, and this here is what that turned out eventually. My first impressions: Must.. drop.. upright bass! From there, with the song mood going the way it did, I figured some real guitar work is needed and this is where my friend Nik Ander stepped in. It’s always fun working with him, and no fucking way I’m gonna bother trying to make some guitar VSTi sound even half-way decent if there’s proper talent available! Way less work to have someone come in, who’ll drop a far better-sounding and smoothly flowing solo, while I go brew some coffee.. Anyway, the song got entered to TUM 2009 music competition where it ranked 10th.
If you’re curious to hear how the song changed where I picked it up, check out the tEiS’ tracker module below. I applied some limiting to (somewhat) level up the overall loudness, but otherwise it’s a direct diskwrite. Tracker modules tend to be pretty quiet as-is, so a bit of limiting is needed to match it with the other stuff on my site.. Just so you don’t have to re-adjust volume constantly. After Hours, work-in-progress by tEiS
On a sidenote bordering irrelevance, TUM still remains on the to-do list for me. Wonder when I manage to attend..
